Giants Injury Update: Angel Pagan 0-4 in first game at Fresno

By on 8/05/2014 10:30:00 AM

The San Francisco Giants scored a run in the ninth inning to break a 3-3 tie to defeat the New York Mets by the score of 4-3 on Monday. The win improved the Giants to 61-51, a game and a half behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. The Giants continue to play without center fielder Angel Pagan. The good news is he started a rehab assignment at Fresno and could return next week against the Milwaukee Brewers.

I reported on August 3 that Pagan,  who last played on June 14, was set to travel to Fresno and play two games before a possible return against the Milwaukee Brewers.

An update on Pagan, according to the official website of the Fresno Grizzlies, is that he started in center field for the Grizzlies during last night's 4-1 victory over Salt Lake.  Pagan played the entire game and went 0-fo-4.

Pagan, in his ninth Major League season, is batting .307 with three home runs and 19 RBI in 63 games this season. The veteran outfielder has played for the Cubs, Mets and Giants and is a career .283 hitter with 49 home runs, 314 RBI and 144 stolen bases.
