Giants Injury Update: Angel Pagan aiming to rejoin team by Wednesday

By on 8/03/2014 12:30:00 PM

The San Francisco Giants enter Sunday's game against the New York Mets with a record of 59-51, three and a half games behind the Dodgers in the National League West. The Giants are staying in the division race with a pitching staff that is 7th in the Major Leagues in ERA. But the offense, that is 21st in runs scored, must pick up the pace. One player who could provide a spark is outfielder Angel Pagan, who could rejoin the Giants in Milwaukee starting Tuesday.

I reported on July 29 that Pagan,  who last played on June 14, was set to begin a full workout and could be sent on a rehab assignment soon.

Alex Pavlovic, who covers the Giants for the Bay Area News Group, tweeted the following update on Pagan.
Pagan, in his ninth Major League season, is batting .307 with three home runs and 19 RBI in 63 games this season. The veteran outfielder has played for the Cubs, Mets and Giants and is a career .283 hitter with 49 home runs, 314 RBI and 144 stolen bases.
