By on 8/06/2014 10:30:00 AM

The San Francisco Giants expect to activate center fielder Angel Pagan in time for Thursday's afternoon game with the Milwaukee Brewers says Alex Pavlovic of the Mercury News Bay Area Group. In addition, catcher Hector Sanchez will continue his Minor League rehab assignment with Triple-A Fresno in preparation to return from the concussion list, possibly later this week.

Angel Pagan

The Fresno Grizzlies' August 5 report says that Pagan completed a two-game assignment with the Triple-A Grizzlies Tuesday night by driving in a run, making his rehab totals 5 for 21 with 2 RBI in four total games.

Pagan is recovering from bulging discs in his back. He last played for the Giants on June 14 and was hitting .307 with 3 HR, 19 RBI, and 11 SB in 63 games. He will likely join the Giants in Milwaukee Wednesday night and return to the lineup Thursday.

Hector Sanchez

Catcher Sanchez began his assignment Tuesday night, going 1 for 3 with Fresno. The Grizzlies' report indicates that Sanchez will continue to play with Fresno Thursday night.

Sanchez is recovering from a concussion suffered when a foul tip hit his mask on July 25. He was hitting .196. NBC Sports' Rotoworld says that Sanchez could return by the end of the week.
