I reported on August 10 that Sanchez, who is recovering from a concussion suffered when a foul tip hit his mask on July 25, was continuing his rehab at Triple-A Fresno. That was halted when he got hit in the mask with another foul tip and was scheduled to undergo more concussion tests.
Alex Pavlovic, who covers the Giants for Mercury News, Bay Area News Group, tweeted the following update on Sanchez.
Hector Sanchez (concussion) is back on DL according to MLB transactions list. Took foul tip off mask during last rehab game.In three rehab games at Fresno, Sanchez is 3-for-10 with a home run and three RBI. In 66 games with the Giants this season, Sanchez is batting .196 with three home runs and 28 RBI. He's a career .246 hitter with nine home runs and 82 RBI in 216 games.
