Jaguars Injury Update: Allen Robinson out at least 2 weeks

By on 8/02/2014 08:00:00 AM

Announced Friday, Jacksonville Jaguars second-round WR Allen Robinson will miss a minimum of two weeks due to an injury on his right hamstring.

The news was reported early on by Florida Times-Union writer Hays Carlyon via twitter.

Robinsion’s hamstring issues can be traced back to spring OTAs, just weeks after Robinson was drafted. Mark Long of The Associated Press reported the news over twitter, too.
In his last and final season at Penn State, Allen Robinson performed at an unbelievable level at the receiver position, catching 97 passes for 1,432 yards and six touchdowns. Over the entire season, Robinson recorded nine games of 98 receiving yards or higher. While Robinson may not be the fastest receiver out there (4.6 40-yard dash time), his physical size to go up and catch passes, strength to leave tacklers in his wake and subtle acceleration to catch corners off guard, make him an overall great receiver.

Having Robinson injured for two weeks is definitely a road block in a Jaguars offense that has already lost the likes of talented WRs Cecil Shorts (injury), Ace Sanders (suspension) and Justin Blackmon (suspension). However, rookie Marqise Lee and a host of undrafted rookies will be making progress in Robinson’s absence.
