Jaguars Injury Update: Tandon Doss placed on IR, ending his season

By on 8/31/2014 06:07:00 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Tandon Doss has been placed on the Jaguars’ injured reserve list, putting an end to Doss’s 2014 season.

The news was reported by the Florida Times-Union via their online website. The FTU stated, “Ace Sanders, who missed the first three preseason games for personal reasons, returned punts in the 24-14 loss to Atlanta on Thursday night after Tandon Doss suffered another ankle injury fielding his third punt. Bradley said he hasn’t decided who will replace Sanders the first four weeks. He mentioned Will Blackmon and Mike Brown and said they need to examine Doss’ condition.”

Acquired from the Baltimore Ravens in the off-season, Doss caught 19 passes for 305 yards and no touchdowns for the Ravens in 2013.

While Doss’s immediate impact won’t be felt by the league, it has been felt at Jaguars camp. Because Doss was the Jaguar’s only punt returner besides the suspended Sanders, they are now in the market for another punt returning.

On IR, Doss has the ability to come back onto the team. However, the way Doss’s ankle has been acting, an immediate return is highly unlikely. For now, the Jaguars’ main focus is finding a good punt returner till WR Ace Sanders gets back from his suspension.
