Marlins Injury Update: Dan Jennings suffers concussion; CT scan negative

Miami Marlins left-handed reliever Dan Jennings was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion. A CT scan was negative, reports Joe Frisaro of Jennings was hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of Jordy Mercer  in the 7th inning of Thursday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates (video here and below).

Although he did not lose consciousness, Jennings sank to the ground and looked stunned for several minutes. After being helped into the cart by trainers he raised his hand to the crowd, which gave him a standing ovation, reports Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune. Jennings was replaced by A.J. Ramos. Prior to tonight's game, Jennings was 0-1 with a 1.05 ERA, 1.515 WHIP and 31 strikeouts in 37 appearances.
Jennings himself tweeted,

Jennings, 27, is in his third major league season. He was drafted by the Marlins in 2008 (9th round) and made his debut April 30, 2012. He is pre-arb and under team control through 2018.
