An update on Matsuzaka, as reported by Adam Rubin of, is that he threw five scoreless innings for the Brooklyn Cyclones in a 2-0 win against the Staten Island Yankees on Thursday night. Matsuzaka struggled a bit in the first inning, as he allowed two hits and a walk, but did not allow a hit in his last four innings. All told, he struck out seven and walked two.

Matsuzaka could return to the Mets on Tuesday when the team comes back from a West Coast trip.
