Nationals Injury Update: Adam LaRoche scratched with sore back

By on 8/26/2014 06:30:00 PM

The Washington Nationals enter Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies coming off a 3-2 loss last night. Even with the loss, the Nationals are 75-55, seven and a half games ahead of the Atlanta Braves in the National League East. Wilson Ramos and Anthony Rendon accounted for the Nationals' runs with solo home runs. The Nationals will try to take game two of the series tonight without the services of first baseman Adam LaRoche, who is out with a sore back.

Adam Kilgore, who covers the Nationals for The Washington Post, tweeted the following on LaRoche's status.
Expect Kevin Frandsen to start tonight for the Nationals against the Phillies' Cole Hamels.

LaRoche, in his 11th Major League season, is batting .266 with 19 home runs and 69 RBI. The veteran has played for the Braves, Pirates, Red Sox, Diamondbacks and Nationals and is a career .265 hitter with 236 home runs and 815 RBI.
