Packers Injury Update: Colt Lyerla out multiple weeks with knee injury

By on 8/05/2014 07:00:00 PM

Green Bay Packers tight end Colt Lyerla will miss multiple weeks with a knee injury, Wes Hodkieicz of the Green Bay Gazette reported on Twitter.

Lyerla suffered the injury, believed to be a sprain, last weekend. Teams do not have to specify injuries in training camp if they do not want to.

Lyerla went undrafted out of the University of Oregon before signing with the Packers after the draft in May.

ESPN's Rob Demovsky shed a little light on the specifics of Lyerla's injury after talking to the rookie's agent.
Lyerla recorded 11 touchdown receptions at Oregon but left in October 2013 for personal reasons. It is unclear if he will be able to participate in the Packers' first regular season game.
