Patriots Injury Update: Bryan Stork out with leg injury

By on 8/01/2014 09:00:00 AM

During Tuesday's practice, Patriots rookie Bryan Stork injured his leg. He left the field with members of the training staff and did not return. This injury could not have come at a worse time for Stork, as he came into training camp battling Ryan Wendell and Dan Connolly for the starting center position.
Stork left the practice field on his own power, so hopefully the injury is not serious.  Connolly filled in during Stork's absence, and more playing time for Connolly will undoubtedly give him a leg up on the competition for the starting center role. Although Stork has time to win the positional battle, a setback like this can absolutely affect his spot on the depth chart, especially for a rookie. With the number of practices allowed before the opening game of the season, missing time can be extremely detrimental. There is no timetable set for Stork's return.
