Patriots Injury Update: James Morris exits with injury

By on 8/29/2014 12:14:00 PM

The New England Patriots have been looking to solidify their linebacker depth all training camp and preseason long. Their potential depth took a hit last night with the injury to James Morris. It appeared that he had been on the bubble for the roster.

Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston reported that James Morris left the game with help from the training staff.

The New England Patriots twitter account later reported that it was a knee injury and that his return was questionable.

It's a tough blow for James Morris, and you really have to feel for a guy like him. He was signed by the Patriots earlier this season and was then waived due to a blood clot. He recovered and was resigned. Morris opened eyes in training camp and looked to be a nice story, because it appeared he'd make the 53-man roster.

It's part of the game, these injuries, though. The Patriots know a lot about injuries too, so they'll handle it perfectly. They maintained the core of the roster without sustaining an injury, and that's one of the top goals in the preseason- stay healthy.

For the rest of the NFL, it's time to focus on cuts and the players who are signed after being cut. Let's get this season started.
