Raiders Injury Update: Darren McFadden has changed his workout routine to help stay healthy

Darren McFadden has struggled to stay on the field during his career with the Oakland Raiders, with 29 missed games in six seasons. Those durability concerns will not go away completely, but head coach Dennis Allen passed along the news over the weekend that the team has changed McFadden's weight room routine in an effort to keep him on the field going forward.

The Raiders brought McFadden back on a one-year deal this offseason, and with the addition of Maurice Jones-Drew a split workload looks likely in an effort to keep both backs healthy and productive. 2013 sixth-round pick Latavius Murray is also in the mix after missing his entire rookie season with a foot injury, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him move into a significant role at some point this season.

McFadden will turn 27 later this month, and he has a chance to re-set his value on the free agent market in a second straight contract year. While I don't see him cashing in with a long-term deal next offseason, better health this season would go a long way toward him getting interest from multiple teams.
