Raiders Injury Update: Matt Schaub injury opens door for Derek Carr

The Oakland Raiders may have a quarterback controversy due to Matt Schaub's sore right elbow injury. He was diagnosed with the injury after last week's presesason game against the Green Bay Packers. It was also described as a "minor" injury.

According to Jerry McDonald of, the Raiders are just giving Derek Carr "some much-needed work." But McDonald shares that the fan base is behind Carr opposed to Schaub.

Schub's preseason has been mediocre to say the least. He has shown that he can't move around in the pocket, and his decision making hasn't been that great. To top it off, his arm strength in no longer present. It has completely disappeared, which might explain his sore right elbow injury.

For Raiders fans sake, hopefully Coach Dennis Allen won't be too gun-shy when it comes to removing Matt Schaub. Sure, you made a trade for him to be your starting quarterback, but you also drafted Carr to be your future starting quarterback, so maybe the future is now.

Get it together, Raiders.
