The St. Louis Rams received some unwanted news late afternoon on Sunday that Isaiah Pead is out for the season with a torn ACL. Pead was looking to be the Ram's backup running back as well as a kick returner.

Pead had his knee buckle while returning a kick during the preseason game with the Green Bay Packers on August 16. This was a non-contact injury, when Pead tried to make a quick turn his knee gave out.

According to Chris Mascaro of, Pead was competing with rookie Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham for the back-up running back behind Zac Stacy.

Pead was drafted by the Rams in 2012 in the second round. In 2013, Pead had five kick returns for 138 yards.
