Rams Injury Update: Sam Bradford out with knee injury

By on 8/24/2014 09:27:00 AM

The St. Louis Rams are awaiting the results of an MRI that will help determine how badly quarterback Sam Bradford injured his knee in a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns.

Nick Wagoner of ESPN reports that it's the same knee Bradford had surgery on last year.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher told reporters after the game that he did speak with Bradford. ''He's fine. He's upbeat,'' Fisher said. ''It appeared to be just a hyperextension of the same knee.''

Bradford fell to the ground and eventually limped off the field after taking a hit on the knee in the first quarter. Veteran backup quarterback Shaun Hill came in to replace him.

Bradford was making his second start of the preseason after returning from a torn left ACL suffered against Carolina on Oct. 20, 2013, that ended his season.

He went 4-of-9 for 77 yards before leaving.

The MRI on his knee is expected to take take place no later than today.
