By on 8/15/2014 10:30:00 AM

The Texas Rangers fell again to the Tampa Bay Rays last night by the score of 6-3. The loss dropped the Rangers to 27 games below .500 at 47-74. Robbie Ross allowed six earned runs on eight hits, in just 4 1/3 innings to get the loss. The pitching staff has been torched to an ERA of 4.81 this season. On the injury front, there is some good news involving Yu Darvish, whose MRI did not reveal any structural damage to the elbow.

I previously reported that Darvish  felt elbow discomfort when trying to play catch on Monday. He did not throw a bullpen session on Tuesday and was placed on the disabled list yesterday.

There is some encouraging news on Darvish, according to the official Twitter feed of the Texas Rangers.
Darvish, in his third Major League season, is 10-7 with a 3.06 ERA in 22 starts.  In 144 1/3 innings, he's allowed 133 hits and stuck out 182.  Darvish has a career record of 39-25 with an ERA of 3.27. In 545 1/3 innings, he's allowed only 434 hits and struck out 680.
