Rangers Injury Update: Yu Darvish still has no timetable for return

By on 8/23/2014 05:45:00 PM

While Derek Holland recently was scratched from his minor league rehab start, Texas Rangers ace pitcher Yu Darvish still has no timetable for his throwing program, according to Anthony Andro of FOX Sports South-West.

While there is some hope that he could return before season's end, the Rangers are expected to be cautious with their high priced ace.  He has not pitched since August 9th, when elbow inflammation sent the 28 year-old to the disabled list.

When Darvish is on his game, he is nearly untouchable.  The three-time All-Star has compiled a career record of 39-25 with a 3.27 ERA.  This season while pitching for a poor Rangers club, Darvish was among the league's best with a 3.06 ERA and a 10-7 record.

With the team going nowhere this season, it may be in their best interests to shut Darvish down before his minor elbow pain becomes major trouble.
