The @Reds reinstate 2B Brandon Phillips, RHP Logan Ondrusek from 15-day DL.Ondrusek will hope to provide a boost to a bullpen that has struggled and blew two straight games against the Rockies. The 29-year-old lefty has pitched in 31.1 innings this season with a 4.31 ERA. He is in the midst of his fifth year as a member of the Reds bullpen.

By returning Phillips, they get not only a run producing, Gold Glove second baseman, but also a leader both on and off the field.
He looks to come back from his thumb injury and contribute to an offense that has often struggled to put up runs. In his final rehab start with Dayton, Phillips went two for three with a double and was also hit by a pitch.
This season in 86 games, Phillips has batted .272 with seven homers and 40 RBIs. His presence will give the Reds back a presence that opposing pitchers fear.
The Reds are 8.5 games behind the division leading Milwaukee Brewers and slipping further from the wild card pack so his promotion in a crucial series could not come at a more important time.
