Rockies Injury Update: Boone Logan and Wilin Rosario to DL

By on 8/29/2014 07:00:00 AM

The Colorado Rockies dropped to 53-80 on the season following a 4-1 loss to the Giants on Thursday. The Rockies are having a dreadful season, despite being fourth in the Major Leagues in runs scored. Numerous injuries and poor pitching have contributed heavily to the bad season. The Rockies disabled list got more crowded, as Boone Logan and Wilin Rosario were both placed on the 15-day DL.

Our own Keri Carbaugh reported on Wednesday that Rosario's left wrist, which was injured on August 20, was healing slower than expected.

An update on Rosario, as reported by Nick Groke of The Denver Post, is that Rosario was moved to the 15-day disabled list retroactive to August 23.  This is the second time Rosario was been on the disabled list this season. He also was out of the lineup earlier in the season with flu-like symptoms.

Rosario, in his fourth Major League season, is batting .243 with 10 home runs and 48 RBI this season. He's a career .269 hitter with 62 home runs and 201 RBI.

As for Logan, he was also placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to August 23.  It was the fourth time this season he's been on the DL and the third time with inflammation in his elbow.

Logan, in his ninth Major League season, has struggled to a 6.84 ERA in 35 games this season. He has a career record of 26-15 with a 4.57 ERA.
