UPDATE: The Detroit Tigers report that initial X-rays on Torri Hunter's hand turned out negative. He has a hand contusion. This is good news for Hunter and the Tigers.

ORIGINAL: Detroit Tigers right fielder Torii Hunter exited in the top of the ninth after getting hit on the left hand with a pitch from the Yankees' reliever Dellin Betances. With one out, Betances hit Hunter with a 0-1 fastball (video). Fortunately, Hunter was able to let go of the bat before the ball hit him so his hand could give way upon impact. Ezequiel Carrera pinch ran and remained in the game when the Yankees came up in the bottom of the ninth.

Carrera took over in center field, moving Rajai Davis from center to left and J.D. Martinez from left to right. The Tigers are awaiting results of X-rays before releasing any further information says NBC Sports' Rotoworld.
