Our own Darius Austin reported on August 12 that Nolasco completed his rehab assignment with Class A Cedar Rapids on Sunday and should return to the rotation later this week.
Rotoworld.com reported that Nolasco was activated from the 15-day disabled list after missing the last five an a half weeks due to an elbow injury. Nolasco struggled prior to the injury, so there was a question as to how well he'll perform.
Nolasco pitched six innings and allowed five earned runs on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts on Friday. He left the game with the Twins behind 5-3.
Nolasco, in his ninth Major League season, entered Friday with a record of 5-7 with a career worse 5.90 ERA this season. The veteran has pitched for the Marlins, Dodgers and Twins and has a career record of 94-82 with a 4.49 ERA.
