White Sox Injury Update: Alejandro De Aza, Avisail Garcia

By on 8/05/2014 09:45:00 AM

The Chicago White Sox have had two injury scares with outfielders over the past couple of days, firstly with the rehabbing Avisail Garcia being hit by a pitch and then last night, Alejandro De Aza departing early after fouling a ball off his knee. Daryl van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times tweeted De Aza's exit during last night's game:
Fortunately for the White Sox, De Aza later told Van Schouwen that he was 'OK' after the incident. The team likely won't know whether there is any significant swelling or pain that would impede De Aza's ability to play until he arrives at the stadium on Wednesday. The White Sox play Texas at 8:10PM ET on Tuesday night.

Garcia can breathe a sigh of relief after X-rays revealed no break in his arm after he was hit in the triceps area on Sunday. CSN's Dan Hayes spoke to manager Robin Ventura, who confirmed that no issues had been revealed on the X-rays. Garcia is progressing much quicker than expected in his recovery from a torn labrum and still looks on course to get several weeks of playing time in this season after previously being expected to miss the whole year.
