White Sox Injury Update: Scott Carroll, Matt Lindstrom

By on 8/12/2014 01:45:00 PM

The White Sox will be making some moves heading into their series against the San Francisco Giants.  According to beat writer Scott Merkin, Jose Quintana will be starting in Scott Carroll's place in the rotation on Wednesday.  Carroll was shelled in his last outing, but Merkin reports that a blister will hold him out from his upcoming start.

In another move, Daryl Van Schouwen is of the Chicago Sun Times is reporting that Matt Lindstrom will be recalled leaving the bullpen without a lefty.

During his first full major league season, Carroll has made 13 starts while appearing in 19 games.  He currently holds a 4.81 ERA and has been hampered by the home run allowing ten in 91 innnings of work.

The return of Lindstrom will bring a veteran presence with closing experience back to the backend of the bullpen.  He owns a career 3.55 ERA and has saved 55 career games.  It is not out of the question that he will at some point regain his closer role.
