Angels Injury Update: Huston Street unavailable due to hamstring tightness

By on 9/10/2014 11:15:00 PM

UPDATE: Street did not pitch in the Angels' 8-1 win over Houston tonight.

The Los Angeles Angels (89-55) are having an incredible season, and that includes veteran closer Huston Street.  However, Street has not pitched since Saturday due to hamstring tightness.

Alden Gonzalez of reported this morning that manager Mike Scioscia said Street has been unavailable due to upper right hamstring tightness.  Scioscia believes Street will be available for the Angels tonight.  As of the writing of this article, the Angels' game against the Texas Rangers was in progress and Street has not pitched as of the seventh inning.

Street has pitched for the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Angels this year.  He has a 1.71 ERA with 13 saves in 15 opportunities since his trade to the Angels in July.  The Angels have the best record in baseball with an eight game lead over the Oakland Athletics in the AL West.
