Angels Injury Update: Josh Hamilton exits with shoulder soreness

By on 9/05/2014 10:45:00 AM

The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Minnesota Twins last night by the score of 5-4 to end a two-game skid. The win improved the Angels to 84-55 on the season, first in the American League West. Howie Kendrick, Erick Aybar and David Freese each had three hits for the Angels. On the injury front, Josh Hamilton left the game in the eighth inning with a sore shoulder.

As reported by Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register,  Hamilton said he will miss at least one more game with a sore AC joint that has been plaguing him since Tuesday. He got a cortisone shot after the game, which will keep him out of the lineup today.

The injury has slowed Hamilton's bat, causing him to hit many balls to left field. Hamilton said the shoulder bothers him not only hitting, but throwing and even running.

Hamilton, in his eighth Major League season, is batting .263 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI this season. The veteran outfielder has played for the Reds, Rangers and Angels and is a career .292 hitter with 192 home runs and 676 RBI.
