Astros Injury Update: Brad Peacock scratched from start

By on 9/15/2014 08:00:00 AM

Jason Martinez is reporting that Houston Astros starting pitcher Brad Peacock will miss his start today against the Cleveland Indians due to lower back tightness. Collin McHugh will start in his absence.
Coming off two of the best starts of his season, Peacock has had an up and down year.  In June and September, he had excellent ERAs, but in July and August he struggled mightily.  These numbers have added up to a 4-8 season with a 4.80 ERA.

In his career, Peacock has started in 38 games and has a career record of 11-14 with a 4.73 ERA.

While the 26-year-old right hander has yet to put up eye-popping numbers, the Astros believe that his stuff is good enough to be a top of the rotation starter.  The Astros are not going anywhere this season, but with a young group of talented prospects in the system, Peacock could become one of the leaders of the future rotations.
