The Oakland A's lost to the Houston Astros on Sunday by the score of 4-3. The loss dropped the A's to 80-62, seven games back in the American League West. The A's bullpen self-destructed in the ninth inning, allowing three runs and five walks without allowing a hit. Left-handed reliever Eric O'Flaherty was unavailable due to back stiffness.

John Shea, who covers the A's for the San Francisco Chronicle, tweeted the following on O'Flaherty.
O'Flaherty has pitched in 17 games in his first season with the A's. He's 1-0 with a 1.65 ERA in 16 1/3 innings pitched. The veteran reliever, in his ninth Major League season, has pitched for the Mariners, Braves and A's and has a career record of 21-9 with a 2.79 ERA.
