Avalanche Injury Update: Alex Tanguay hopes to bounce back this season after struggling with hip/knee injuries

Alex Tanguay is hoping to have a better season after playing just 16 games in the 2013-2014 season. Tanguay was sidelined most of the season with hip and knee injuries.

Last season Tanguay started off by helping the team get to a 12 (win)-1 (loss) start. He was then sidelined for 36 games due to a hip and knee injury.

After the 36 games, Tanguay returned for three games until the team decided to shut him down for the season. He underwent major hip surgery and was expected to miss a couple of months.

Speaking about his recovery, Tanguay said, “Last year I was a passenger, watching from the sideline,” “I was almost a fan. But this year I want to be a part of it, and I’m hoping to contribute quite a bit.”

“It was a long, long road with a lot of frustration, lots of everything, and I just wish the surgery would have been done in November, looking back,”

“But at the time we thought I would be able to come back and play. It just didn’t pan out that way.”

In 16 games, Tanguay scored four goals and had seven assists.
