Bears Injury Update: Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall miss practice

By on 9/12/2014 12:00:00 PM

The Chicago Bears have, what some consider, the best one-two punch in the receiving department with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. However, after Marshall injured his ankle and Jeffery injured a hamstring in week one, the duos status for week two against the San Francisco 49ers is up in the air after both missed Thursday's practice.

The Chicago Bears tweeted:

Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk reported the team returned to the practice field Wednesday without either man. After practice, coach Marc Trestman called both players “day-to-day” so Thursday and Friday’s practice reports will provide updates about how close they are to making a full return to action.

Wide receiver Marquess Wilson is already out, and if either or both can't go in week 2, the Bears offense will be at a serious disadvantage against a stout San Francisco defense. The final word will likely come before game time.
