Bears Injury Update: Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall

By on 9/13/2014 10:15:00 AM

The Chicago Bears are looking to get back to winning football games after a disappointing loss vs. the Buffalo Bills. It won't get easier for the Bears, though, because it appears that both Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery are banged up.

Rich Campbell writes that Alshon Jeffery was participating in practice on Friday. His participation was limited- he did position drills and some repetitions during team drills.

The injury update on Jeffery was a positive one considering that he was able to actually practice with the team in some role, but he's still listed as questionable. The Bears will be cautious with his hamstring injury, though.

Brandon Marshall is also questionable for the game. He's been battling an ankle injury and says that his ankle will 'hurt' when he tests it out. However, he's vowed to play against the 49ers Sunday night.

It'll be an interesting situation for the Bears because they're thin at wide receiver with these injuries. Number three receiver Josh Morgan is doubtful with a groin injury. The only notable wide receiver after that is Santonio Holmes.

The Bears can't feel bad for themselves, though. They've put themselves in a tough situation with the Buffalo loss last week. Being 0-2 is obviously not a good start, but it's even worse considering that the rest of the teams in their division look like they can be good or at least hang around for awhile.

One thing's for sure, the Bears aren't making it easy on themselves.
