Bengals Injury Update: A.J. Green has turf toe

By on 9/15/2014 12:00:00 PM

The Cincinnati Bengals top Receiver A.J. Green went down with a toe injury in the Bengals impressive victory against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He left the game early and did not return.

According to Geoff Hobson at Bengals.com:

'It's the injury that scratched Green from practice on Thursday, but he went full go on Friday. He left after the first couple of plays of the game and had no catches for the first time in his 49 NFL games.'

According to Pro Football Talk, Green has a sprained ligament in his foot, rather than turf toe. Either way it not believed to be very severe. Green will rest and rehab the foot during the week and see if he can go in week three. For a player who has to cut and push off on his foot, theses injuries can be a nagging issue.

The good news in all of this is that Bengals have an early week four bye. If Green were to miss the week three match up, he should have plenty of time to recover in time for the Bengals week five match up in New England.
