Bengals Injury Update: AJ Green limited in practice

By on 9/19/2014 10:45:00 AM

After suffering a foot injury this past Sunday in the Cincinnati Bengals victory over the Atlanta Falcons, A.J. Green was able to get out on the practice field Thursday. His injury, which was classified a toe injury in many reports, and sprained ligament in others, is a difficult one for a receiver to deal with.

As Geoff Hobson of reported, he is listed with a toe injury:

As advertised, wide receiver A.J. Green (right toe) suited up Thursday and after sitting out Wednesday and ran some routes and caught some balls early in practice. The club categorized him as "limited," and no one seems to know how that is going to go until Green reports how it feels Friday.

With the Bengals heading into a bye week in week four, if he is not up to speed, the Cincinnati coaching staff may very well give him the week off and allow three weeks between contests for Green. That's just speculation.

With him able to get out on the field on Thursday, it shows he is progressing well. The Bengals obviously would love to have their top target on the field come Sunday. It is a grueling season though, so check back after Friday's report comes out and prior to the Bengals one o'clock kickoff on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
