Darqueze Dennard was the Bengals top draft pick in 2014 and the Bengals hoped that this move would help solidify one of their weaknesses. With Dennard getting injured early in the preseason the Bengals have not been able to get a lot out of the rookie. Dennard had sustained an undisclosed hip injury in week 2 of the preseason and has been limited in action since.
The extent of the hip injury is not known, but most hip injuries usually require extensive rehabilitation due to the nature of the game and demands placed on the hip joint. For the Bengals going forward they have shuffled around corner backs Leon Hall and former first round draft pick Dre Kirkpatrick. Until Dennard can return fully healthy it seems that the Bengals will continue to plug away at defensive schemes.
