The Columbus Blue Jackets will have to wait a little longer before they see forward Nathan Horton suit up for a full season. Horton will miss training camp and possibly the start of the season with a  lingering back issue.

In summer 2013, Horton left the Boston Bruins and signed a 7 year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was placed on Injured Reserve on October 1st (at the start of the season) after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Horton missed 40 games from the surgery. He returned then suffered a lower body injury missing four games which resulted in an abdominal injury where he missed the last two games of the season and all 6 playoff games.

Horton was expecting to have a better season, but that will have to wait as he is trying to live through the back pain.

GM Jarmo Kekalainen is unsure if Horton will be ready to go on opening night on October 9th.

Last season Horton played 36 games, had 5 goals and 14 assists.
