Browns Injury Update: Ben Tate hurts knee, out for remainder of game

By on 9/07/2014 03:52:00 PM

Cleveland Browns running back Ben Tate is out for the remainder of the team's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee sprain, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports.

Tate left the game after tallying six carries for 45 yards, but injured his knee in the second half. He was replaced by Baylor rookie Terrence West.

The Browns signed Tate to a two-year contract in the offseason. Cleveland traded away former starter Trent Richardson to the Colts last season.

Injuries are nothing new for Tate, who had spent the last few seasons as the backup to Arian Foster in Houston. His rookie year, Tate suffered a broken ankle that forced him to miss the entire season. He suffered a rib injury last year that kept him out of three games.

Tate isn't the only Browns weapon out for the game. Tight end Jordan Cameron is done for the remainder of the game with a shoulder injury, according to Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post.
