Capitals Injury Update: Tom Wilson unsure when he will return

By on 9/25/2014 01:30:00 PM

The Washington Capitals are missing Tom Wilson from training camp. He suffered a broken fibula in his left leg over the summer and had surgery to repair it. He will probably miss all of preseason but aims to be back at some point in the near future.

Wilson has recently started skating but has not taken any practices with his teammates. He is taking his recover step-by-step and day-by-day so he will not suffer a setback. His return timetable still unknown is not the most important thing, it is to get stronger and be able to come back 100%.

Wilson says, “It’s tough coming in here, it’s tough seeing everyone working through their skate tests, and you want to be out there with them and you don’t want be the guy not out there,” “So, it’s tough mentally, but I’m putting in the work off the ice and hopefully it comes around.”

During his rookie season in 2013-2014, Wilson had 10 points along with 151 penalty minutes in 82 games.
