Chargers Injury Update: Danny Woodhead likely out for season

By on 9/22/2014 10:00:00 AM

After losing Ryan Mathews for a month, or more, in week two, the San Diego Chargers running back situation got worse in week three when Danny Woodhead went down with an injury and was carted off the field.

Alex Marvez said on Twitter:

Thus far in 2014, the Chargers have lost their top two running backs from 2013. They did however sign Donald Brown in the offseason for just this scenario. Brown rushed 31 times for 62 yards on Sunday against a tough Buffalo Bills defense.

It's too bad for Woodhead, who you just can't rout against. He was an undrafted free agent out of Division II schhol Chadron State, and was named D-II player of the year in both 2006 and 2007. Hopefully his recovery and return will have just as good of a story as his pursuit to become an NFL running back.
