Johnson went down with a non-contact injury to his right ankle just before halftime. The 10th year veteran had tallied four tackles in the game for Kansas City prior to the injury.
The Chiefs have not disclosed the exact injury that occurred. Johnson played in 15 of the Chiefs' 16 games last season and tallied 95 tackles and 4.5 sacks for the team. He also intercepted two passes.
For his career, Johnson has tallied over 700 tackles and 20 forced fumbles to go along with 11 interceptions. His 110 tackles in 2012 placed him in the top 15 among all NFL linebackers.
Johnson's injury is another blow to a Chiefs defense that was already without starting corner Marcus Cooper, who was inactive for today's game with an ankle injury.
This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
UPDATE #1 (3:26 PM): Adam Caplan of ESPN is reporting Johnson tore his ACL and is out for the season.
