Colts Injury Update: A.Q. Shipley starts for Khaled Holmes

By on 9/09/2014 10:14:00 PM

Indianapolis Colts center A.Q. Shipley gets the nod against the Denver Broncos on Sunday in place of Khaled Homes, as reported by Josh Alper of

Homes has been suffering from an ankle injury as of recently, the same one that had him sidelined for the majority of training camp. As a result, on August 31st the Colts claimed A.Q. Shipley off waivers from the Ravens, which is interesting as they were the team that originally traded him to the Ravens a year ago.

A.Q. got his start in the NFL thanks to the Pittsburgh Steelers, drafting the young man in the seventh round. Other than being a professional athlete, Shipley is also quite intelligent. Back when A.Q. was still a wide-eyed rookie at the scouting combine in 2009, he scored a 40 on the Wonderlic Test. Don’t know what this is? Open another tab and check it out. We should be calling him A.Q. “The I.Q.” Shipley.

Hopefully this time around, Shipley can think of a way to keep himself on the team. With Andrew Luck behind the wheel, the Colts are headed for good things.
