Colts Injury Update: Arthur Jones suffers ankle injury

By on 9/16/2014 03:45:00 PM

The Colts have started the season with a disappointing and somewhat surprising two losses. They also suffered the loss of sack master, Dwight Freeney, for the entire season with a torn Achilles, and will now be without another star from their front seven.

Arthur Jones, a fifth-year player out of Syracuse, was carted off the field during the Colts Monday night loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. It was revealed after the game that the lineman had suffered a high ankle sprain. Typically, the recovery time for the injury is 5-7 weeks. For good measure, Jones will be reevaluated on Tuesday.

This is yet another blow to an under-performing Colts defense. In his absence, Zach Kerr and Ricky Jean-Francois will be forced to not only step up, but perform well. It’s only week three, so there is no reason to panic, however there is no question that some of the magic that the Colts have possessed over the last three seasons has dissipated.
