Cowboys Injury Update: Morris Claiborne initial diagnosis torn ACL

Dallas Cowboys defensive back, Morris Claiborne, the once highly touted prospect out of LSU, may have suffered what will turn out to be a season ending injury. The initial diagnosis is a torn ACL, suffered while back peddling in coverage Sunday night against the New Orleans Saints.

The MRI to be performed on Monday will show whether or not he did actually tear the ACL. That is about the worst news a player can get. If it is an ACL tear, that would mean he likely would have surgery and rehab in an effort to return in time for the start of the 2015 season. The Cowboys defense played excellent without Claiborne on Sunday night against an top-notch Saints offense.

Claiborne had an interesting week. He went AWOL from practice this week, then returned the next day to apologize. He was initially out of the starting lineup but entered the game before the Saints first offensive play in the Cowboys nickel package according to Josh Katzowitz of
