Cowboys Injury Update: Tony Romo, Dez Bryant

By on 9/19/2014 11:15:00 AM

The Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant returned to practice on Thursday. They are preparing for their Week 3 match-up against the St. Louis Rams, reports Todd Archer of ESPN

Romo is dealing with some soreness in his back. The Cowboys quarterback had season-ending surgery in 2013. All indications point to Romo starting on Sunday against the Rams.

Bryant missed practice Wednesday due to a sore shoulder. The Cowboys want to be cautious with their star wide receiver. Bryant looks on track to be in the starting line-up for the Cowboys on Sunday.

The fact that Romo and Bryant should be in the line-up for Sunday is great news for the Cowboys. Romo completed ten passes to Bryant last week for 103 yards and a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans, leading the Cowboys to a victory.

The Cowboys are currently 1 - 1 this year, which is one game back from the Eastern Division-leading Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys play the St. Louis Rams in Week 3 against a Rams pass defense that ranks 5th in the NFL, allowing 172 yards a game. With that being said, the Cowboys passing game will definitely be put to the test.
