Diamondbacks Injury Update: David Peralta, A.J. Pollock

By on 9/10/2014 02:30:00 PM

While one Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder was able to return to the lineup last night, another is expected to be out until at least Friday. Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports that David Peralta is aiming to return then, having sat out since last Friday with a sore back. A.J. Pollock was able to play on Tuesday after also taking a seat on Saturday and Sunday.

After battling a sore groin for several days, Pollock returned to the lineup, as manager Kirk Gibson hoped. The center fielder got one of only four hits off Giants starter Yusmeiro Petit as the Diamondbacks went down 5-1.

Both Pollock and Peralta have been bright spots in an otherwise very disappointing season for Arizona, now looking for a new GM with the firing of Kevin Towers. Sidelined for much of the year with a broken hand, Pollock is hitting an excellent .321/.367/.544 in 208 PA, while Peralta has a 115 OPS+ in his first major league season and has been worth almost two wins, per Baseball-Reference.
