Dodgers Injury Report: Paco Rodriguez ready for bullpen

By on 9/02/2014 09:45:00 AM

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Washington Nationals on Monday by the score of 6-4. The loss was the fourth in the last seven games for the Dodgers. Even with the current slump, the Dodgers are 77-61, two games ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the National League West. There is good news that could help the bullpen during the stretch run, as Paco Rodriguez, who has been out nearly a month, is ready for a bullpen session.

I reported on August 8 that Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a teres major strain, three days after being recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Eric Stephen, who covers the Dodgers for True Blue LA, tweeted the following update on Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, in his third Major League season, has appeared in only 13 games after making 76 appearances last season. In 10 1/3 innings he's allowed 10 hits and struck out 11, posting an ERA of 4.35.  Rodriguez was stellar last season, allowing only 30 hits in 54 1/3 innings, with 63 strikeouts and a 2.32 ERA.
