Dodgers Injury Update: Hyun-Jin Ryu exits with shoulder irritation

Hyun-jin Ryu exited Friday’s game against the Giants after one inning when he experienced shoulder irritation according to Mark Saxon of ESPN.

Ryu, 27, gave up 6 earned runs in the first inning as he threw 27 pitches. Right-hander Chris Perez relieved him in the second inning.

This season, Ryu has a 3.38 ERA in 152 innings pitched. The problem is he has an ERA over 7 against the Giants and a 2.92 ERA against everybody else.  He has walked 29, struck out 139, and has a WHIP of 1.19.

In 2013, Ryu had an impressive rookie year as he had an ERA of 3.00 in 192 innings pitched while striking out 154 and walking just 49. He had a WHIP of 1.20.
