By on 9/14/2014 11:15:00 AM

The Los Angeles Dodgers increased their lead over the San Francisco Giants in resounding fashion last night by pounding the Giants 17-0. The Giants used a 24-hit attack, including a home run by pitcher Zack Greinke, who threw six scoreless innings to get the win. Matt Kemp, who went 3-for-4, was replaced for precautionary reasons late in the game after fouling a ball off his foot.

Ken Gurnick, who covers the Dodgers for, tweeted the following on Kemp.
Kemp, who missed over half the season last year due to injury, is having a good recovery this season. In 137 games, he's batting .284 with 19 home runs and 72 RBI. The veteran outfielder, in his ninth Major League season, has a career batting average of .292 with 176 home runs and 631 RBI.
