Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux suffers a lower-body injury leaving him unable to play for the next two weeks, according to Sportsnet. Giroux left practice last friday, which turned out to be an injury that was later announced that day by General Manager Ron Hextall.

When Giroux left the ice last friday, it was rumoured that he may have suffered a groin injury. However, there is no conformation of that. The injury will leave Giroux out for two weeks which is approximately right around the puck drop to regular season games.

With Giroux out of the lineup, this comes as a major problem to the Flyers' team. The rest of the team will have to step up and win some preseason games without their captain. Flyers hope to start strong this season after the early elimination from their last playoff experience and are likely to start the regular season without Giroux.

Giroux had an amazing last season with 26 goals and 56 assists.
