Ryan White joined the Flyers last month after becoming an unrestricted free agent. A couple of days later, the team announced he had successful surgery to repair his left pectoral muscle. He suffered the injury in an off-ice training in Brandon, Manitoba.
White signed a one year-two way contract with the team. He will be battling for a spot on the NHL roster when healthy. Until then, the team announced he will miss training camp recovering from the injury.
Last season with the Montreal Canadiens, White suffered a similar injury that did not require surgery. However, it caused him to miss 14 games. He played 52 games (a career NHL high) and had two goals and four assists.
