Giants Injury Report: Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Mosley, Jon Beason

By on 9/08/2014 08:00:00 AM

After struggling in the preseason, the New York Giants’ offense will be without some personnel Monday night against the Detroit Lions:

The big name on New York’s final injury report is rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who will not play as he attempts to rehab a hamstring injury. New York took Beckham Jr. 12th overall in the 2014 draft and expected him to step in immediately as a critical target behind Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle.

Reserve tackle James Brewer will also be out with a back injury, meaning the Giants can’t afford any more injuries to the offensive line. Fortunately for New York, reserve tackle Charles Brown (shoulder) and starting guard Brandon Mosley (back) are both listed as probable and are expected to be at full capacity.

A thin offensive line could spell trouble for the Giants in Week 1, as Ndamukong Suh and company
will pose a major challenge.

On the defensive side of things, the Giants will be relatively healthy. Third-string defensive tackle Markus Kuhn will be inactive with an ankle injury, while middle linebacker Jon Beason is probable with a foot problem and will likely start in the Giants'  base defense.
